Organizing the Marisol Army!

If you are in the area and would like to help in the Marisol search, sign up here.

We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you who has volunteered, made a call, kept your eyes open, sent an encouraging thought, sent a donation, read this blog, given out a flier, spoken to someone, blogged about this. All of you are amazing and if we’ve made any progress at all, it’s because of you.

We have been asked by lots of people how they can help in-person and while this is awesome, we are feeling slightly overwhelmed trying to coordinate everyone. We do periodically need to do things like update the fliers in the neighborhood, or just walk through the trails and keep an eye out. So…

If you are in the area and would like to help in the Marisol search, sign up here.

We will continue to update this blog with daily summaries and any news or sightings, but we really want a central point of contact to arrange  teams, for example.

THANK YOU!!!

I had my binoculars today, looking as deeply as possible out across non-path areas. The entire forest floor is rust and cream colored. Camouflage. The Fells is such a big place.

I’ve been following her story since Marisol was first missing and though I don’t own a dog anymore, I still miss my childhood dog who died a few years ago. I know how important a dog is to their family members. I’m headed out there for a walk today, but since I don’t have a dog I also don’t have a leash I can bring with me, but I’ll bring my phone and your number with me so I can call ASAP.

I live right on Route 60 so I will DEFINITELY be keeping an eye out with my four roommates. We all go to the fells frequently.

  7. Jane and Brandon says:

If we can hang flyers for you or knock on some doors, we would be more than happy to…I think Marisol likes us, so maybe if we bumped into her she would respond. We are both so upset to hear she is missing…

Thank you so much, guys! Marisol adores both of you, of course. The issue right now is that she’s back in “street dog” mode, not “house dog” mode, so she isn’t coming when called. For 3 or 4 of the sightings, she approached one person walking one dog, played with the dog, and then ran off. In 2 of the other cases, couples saw her hovering nearby but she didn’t come close. She’s super social, so we’re hoping she’ll approach someone to play and they’ll be able to grab her collar, but right now we think she’s in an area we haven’t postered yet or where people don’t hike much… she’s moving away from noise to stay safe, and we have no idea how she’s getting food :(

I ALSO LOST MY DOG PRECIOUS, AND AFTER 10 DAYS OF SEARCHING , THE WHOLE TIME SHE WAS IN A KENNEL IN ROSINDALE MASS. SHE HAD BEEN FOUND IN CHARLSTOWN, AND I LIVE IN SOMERVILLE. LONG STORY, BUT NEVER GAVE UP HOPE , I DID’NT AND NOW WE ARE BOTH REUNITED. PRECIOUS AND I DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE , BUT WE WILL STOP BY FOR A WHILE AND TAKE A LOOK. GOOD LUCK AND GODS SPEED.

  10. Kathy Marith says:

I live in Fulton Heights area of Medford and will keep my eyes open for Marisol.

just wondering if there have been some areas that you’ve been able to narrow down – and possibly some “door knocking” might be a good next step. A few “non-threatening looking” people armed with posters, knocking on doors in the area of the last sighting might alert folks who aren’t aware. I’d give some time to that (my heart would be broken if it was my pet)
