On May 5, 2008, Andrew and I first met Mari. She was a scraggly little thing,
but she wouldn’t stop smiling, and she was playing tricks when she thought no one was looking. We knew right away she was a special pup.
Three days later, on May 8th, we brought her home from Puerto Rico. The plane trip and subsequent car ride made her nervous,
but through it all, she kept smiling.
By the end of the summer, she was completely our sol.
It’s hard to believe she’s been lost for almost as long as she’d been living on her own when we adopted her.
Miss you little one. It’d be a Frosty Paws day if you were home.
Thank you for sharing more of mari’s adoption story. I can’t think of a more loving set of doggie parents. (happy mothers day to you, anindita.) I continue to have every confidence your baby will come home. Praying for a visit to the feeding station and more sightings. Hang in there. We are all here to support you in any way we can.

What beautiful pictures…thanks so much for sharing them, Anindita. I’m sure those anniversary days are hard, but I know she’ll be found. With so many people looking, praying, and sending positive thoughts out into the universe on her and your behalf, it will happen. I hope the sighting on the 5th was her, and am visualizing opening up this site in the next couple of days to see a picture of the Queen of the Fells dining at her very own feeding station! C’mon, Universe, it’s spring–wake up and get to work on bringing Mari home!!

What a great post. People who rescue dogs are the some of the best in the world
. I’m sure Mari is sunning herself on a hidden rock somewhere. There’s got to be a way to bring her home…keep us posted on the feeding station and try and stay positive.

I have been thinking of little Marisol every day since I read about her story. Both of you are indeed loving and special people! I envision a book and perhaps a movie being made from Mari’s story when she is found. Yes, the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming… your little flower shall come out and you shall bring her home. Stay strong!

I don’t know if you follow Freekibblekat.com. I sign in daily to help feed shelter animals. The item on dogs today was about a lost dog in England named Charlie. His owner walked barefoot from the last place he was seen to their home and Charlie was able to pick up her scent and follow it home. A great story! It may not be practical for you and Marisol but it’s just an idea I thought I’d share. Hoping for another positive sighting real soon
As an addendum to Mary’s post..also know of folks that have soaked their worn socks in water and then put the water into a spray bottle to leave a scent trail (for when walking barefoot is not practical)…..
Came on Mari…we want to see your pretty face back at home…
